A Pueblo man was arrested this week for what police described as a fake kidnapping report that prompted an Amber Alert, all to expedite efforts to track down his stolen pickup truck.

A man lied about a “kidnapped” teenager in Colorado after his truck was stolen, police say. The man, 34-year-old Daniel Reyes, called the Pueblo Police Department to report a kidnapping and car theft from the Sunset Bowling alley around 5:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, the agency said on Facebook.

PUEBLO, Colo. (KKTV) - Police believe a man lied about a kidnapping that resulted in an AMBER Alert this week in Colorado. The ordeal started Wednesday night at about 5:15 p.m. when Pueblo Police were called to Big Daddy’s Sunset Bowl along Prairie Avenue on the claim a vehicle was taken with a child inside.
