Dr Manmohan Singh, the 14th Prime Minister of India who was widely acknowledged as the architect of the country’s economic reforms, passed away in New Delhi on Thursday.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been admitted to the emergency department of AIIMS Delhi, said Sources.

Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away at the age of 92 at the AIIMS Hospital in Delhi on Thursday, December 26. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's husband Robert Vadra expressed condolences after Singh's demise.

Former prime minister Manmohan Singh was admitted to emergency dept of AIIMS Delhi on Thursday evening after his health deteriorated, sources said. The reason for his hospitalisation was not immediately known.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, aged 92, died on Thursday in Delhi at AIIMS after collapsing at his residence.

The Congress rally, scheduled for Friday, has been cancelled and senior party leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge are returning back to Delhi.

An AIIMS bulletin said "he was treated for age related medical conditions and had sudden loss of consciousness at home" on December 26
