JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The First Alert Weather Team is tracking a tropical disturbance moving across Central and Northern Florida. Here’s what you can expect for the First Alert Weather forecast in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia:
NWS in Ruskin, the office that covers the Fort Myers-Cape Coral area, is forecasting an 80% to 90% chance rain through Thursday.
Another round of showers and thunderstorms is slowly moving across the Mid-Atlantic Tuesday evening, after intense rain set off dangerous flash flooding from Virginia to New York on Monday, leaving at least two dead and prompting dozens of rescues as water overwhelmed roads and subways.
Multiple rounds of storms will bring up to 9 inches of rain to some areas. More than 8 inches of rain has fallen in Brevard County as of 11 a.m., and a flood watch has been issued for most of Central Florida. That’s why the First Warning Weather team is calling for Impact Weather for most of the day.
The National Hurricane Center said July 16 it is continuing to monitor an area of low pressure moving across Florida toward the Gulf.
